OUR MISSION
The Mission of Fort McMurray Montessori Group of Schools is to advance Montessori education in Fort McMurray, Alberta. F.M.M.G.S aims to offer independent assistance, guidance, educational, professional services and administrative support to all educators, parents and schools keen to learn about Dr. Maria Montessori’s scientific approach to learning and way of life.
Our Vision
Our core vision is to educate students for life. Our focus is to provide a child’s environment that zeroes in on freedom, structure and order, reality and nature, beauty and atmosphere, and a harmonious and intellectual environment. We strive to educate the children to learn more about their identity, their self-independence, self efficacy, their role in the immediate community, the idea of peaceful coexistence and their global obligations as citizens of the world.

Structure and order
MMA environments emphasize structure and order to represent the sense of structure and order in the universe. By using our Montessori classroom environment as a microcosm, the child adopts the order surrounding them and making sense and realism of the world they live.
Beauty and Atmosphere
Our Guides spend time meticulously arranging every material, furniture and classroom to attain a comfortable, homelike neutral environment. This is designed to attract different interests and attention in learning.
Real and natural objects
Students make use of real objects in learning process. In our classrooms you will find real wood, wooden baskets and metal objects and cotton. We occasionally embark on nature walks where children will pick up natural objects like acorn, leaves and twigs that they can use to enhance their studies.

OUR TEACHERS
With our parents as partners in education, MMA interviews and hires teachers with sound academic credentials and a strong passion to help guide students to be independent, resourceful and active citizens of tomorrow.
We value each teacher’s individual strengths and positive contributions to the school culture. Most of our teachers specialise in either Infant, Toddler, Pre-primary, Primary or elementary level. After careful consideration, each teacher is placed in a class that commensurate with his or her qualifications and the ability to help shape the children’s utmost potential.
