At Camp Horizon, we strive to provide a fun, relaxed, informal, educational and experiential filled environment that enriches the children’s learning experiences. We offer a Forest Camp programme including streams and wetland studies, treasure maps and direction, shelter building, wild edibles, nature-based crafts, plant identification, story telling, introduction to tools and so much more. camp is deeply rooted in nature play and committed to emergent planning that follows the interests of the children. Camp Horizon provides opportunities for children to be at home in the world of nature. The children lead the way with their interests and ideas; with play as a core component of the Forest Camp program.
We strongly believe that children learn through hands-on, mental and physical stimulation, which comes about through active participation. By making our students engage in different activities, they are motivated to engage in meaningful engagements both in their individual and group capacities. Through this interaction, students are encouraged to resolve problems, foster positive relationships and build long lasting friendships. The camp activities are tailored in such a way as to promote individual differences and interests that each child brings to the camp. As children interact in camp activities, they respect and support each other and thereby promote a spirit of cooperation.
Mission
Horizon school aims to provide a fun and safe learning environment that develops the “whole child” through a interdisciplinary learning approach that emphasize the spiritual, social-emotional and physical being of every child.
